1st Annual Youth Drag Race

Do you have a child interested in drag? Are you under 18, but have always wanted to be a part of a safe and fun drag show? Well, this October we are having our First Annual Youth Drag Race! We are so excited to be offering this fabulous opportunity for Chattanooga’s youth to drag it up and be a part of this special event! We want to provide an open and safe space for younger people to hang out, perform, and get the chance to work with a local professional drag queen or king! It’s going to be a super fun event featuring well known members of the Chattanooga LGBTQ+ community.

The Youth Drag Race event itself will take place October 4th, from 6pm - 9pm at The Palace Theater, locates in downtown Chattanooga. Cover is only $5. Parents and friends are welcome and encouraged to attend! The event will be hosted by local Chattanooga drag superstar, T’yana Montice. The winner of this event will be crowned Princess or Prince of The Palace Theater as well as receive a $100 cash prize, and other awards and opportunities will be discussed! We will have a panel of professional judges in order to carefully and fairly crown our winner.

Each contestant will be assigned a local professional drag queen or king as a mentor to help these young performers get together their perfect look, routine, and everything else involved! We will hold interview September 24th, from 6-8pm, just so we can get an idea of what each performer wants to bring to the table, so we can assign them properly to their professional drag mentor! Contestants must be 18 or under.
